Upon Crafting And Kids And Eventual Chaos

Here are crafting pictures from this past week!

*Please forgive the unfavorable pictures!  My editing program is not working for me at the moment, so I just have my raws up for you all.  Yarn is hand-dyed by Luna Grey Fiber Arts.

These past three weeks since my nine-year-old son was diagnosed with type one diabetes has been insane!  From learning all about the autoimmune disease, to the shots and the carb ratios, to the math and blood sugar checks and needles and insulin and finally the frequent night wakings to check on my son's blood sugar. On so many levels this is so very difficult.  BUT the upside is (and there is an upside!) its being thankful it isn't so much worse.  Because it could be and it's not. In fact, this event has really brought our family closer and I am really enjoying extra time with my almost tween boy who would much rather play Minecraft than talk to his mom! But the shots force him to hang out with his dorky parents all that much more.
On the craft-front.... well there isn't much going on.  I'm knitting a pink kitty for Valentina and slowly working on some dollies. I'd love to bring back our handmade Christmases and I forsee loads of little dollies, woolens and knits, and wooden toys under the Christmas tree this year.  In Christmas pasts we've always bought store-bought toys and as the boys have gotten older--- electronics.  I dislike that and I hope to reign back in our simpler time and a time where crafts and handmades were really appreciated.
